Workshop

Block Chain Technology

By Dr Sandeep Kumar Panda, Associate Professor, Faculty of Science & Technology, IFHE, Hyderabad

This workshop aims to provide conceptual understanding of the function of Block chains as a method of securing distributed ledgers. It covers how consensus is achieved based on their contents, and the new applications that they enable. The technological underpinnings of block chain operations are included as distributed data structures and decision-making systems, their functionality and different architecture types. Upon Completion of this workshop, students can understand the structure of a block chain and why/when it is better than a simple distributed database; we evaluate the setting where a block chain-based structure may be applied, its potential and its limitations. They can understand the differences among permissioned block chain, the most prominent block chain structures service providers and rising alliances and networks.
