Ashoka Institute of Engineering and Technology has organized a Guest Lecture, as a part of induction programme, on 7th September 2019, on the topic ‘Campus to Corporate’ by Dr. Swathi Kumari, Principal of Ashoka Business School of Management and a Motivational Speaker. Dr. Swathi Kumari motivated the students by telling about the importance of developing Hard Skills as well as the Soft Skills. She said that making a transition from campus to corporate life, getting aware of and adjusting to a professional environment is a major problem for many graduates. Mere gaining of an academic degree does not guarantee a graduate being employable. Along with degree, he/she must possess soft skills which are essential in getting a job and doing that job successfully. The challenges at the workplace require various business skills that are not part of the curriculum in many institutions today. In this scenario, campus to corporate training programme is a boon to the fresh graduates. She told that Campus to corporate training is a soft skills programme that helps students transition smoothly learning the basics of corporate communication, managing time, and the mindset shift that is required when moving from a college to a corporate environment.
