This workshop enlightens the real-time use of GIS software in capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage, and present spatial or geographic data. GIS applications are tools that allow users to analyze spatial information, edit data in maps. It includes how earth-based spatial-temporal location and extent references are relatable to one another and to a “real” physical location. On completion of this workshop, students will understand how GIS interprets the topographic data, topographical maps, and aerial photography and satellite imagery for collecting data and identifying attributes that can be mapped in layers over a location to scale. Students will identify the potential of GIS software and its applications.
